Pandora Radio: Legal Free Music

One of the things that I love about the internet is that there are so many ways to use it for free services. Pandora Radio is one of my favorites. I LOVE music, and I like a huge variety of music. Listening to music that I love makes me so happy and is one of my favorite forms of entertainment. Downloading music online can be a very expensive habit, that is why I was so happy to hear about Pandora Radio about a year ago.
Pandora is a free music player for your computer that you can totally customize to your likes and dislikes. You can even set your stations to avoid explicit lyrics which I find extremely helpful. They play 15 second commercials very infrequently, but that is so much better than your normal radio stations.
The best part is that you customize the music. You pick one song or artist to start your station and then Pandora picks songs that are similar. Then you can give input by pushing on the thumbs down or thumbs up buttons helping to refine your station. You can also set up several stations for whatever mood you may be in.
If you have a Blackberry or an iPhone, first of all I am so jealous, but secondly, you can even download Pandora onto your phone and take your music with you.
It is so fun because I have been introduced to so many artists that I have never heard of, but that I now love. Some of my current favorite stations are Sarah Bareilles, Duffy, Maroon 5 and Adele.
I love when I can find free alternatives to things that I would normally pay good money for!

Might also give Slacker Radio (www.slacker.com) a try. They have over 100 pre-programmed stations or you can make your own. It’s also free. I’m a fan.

I also like http://www.playlist.com. You can search for songs you like and add them to your playlist, which you can save and play again and again. You can create and save different playlists by mood, artist, whatever you want. They have a lot of obscure artists in their database. Just about anything I search for, it’s in there.
